Registrar Key-Systems is again attending the central expert conference for the German speaking domain industry called Domain Pulse. The two-day industry meeting starting today in Lucerne covers current issues and trends about domains and the internet’s further development. Internet security is the focus of the conference program.

Zweibrücken, 10-02-01. Safety on the internet is a major concern to Key-Systems. The registrar offers its end customers the reliable registration and administration of domains. Key-Systems’ service BrandShelter especially addresses the needs of companies, institutions and organizations, which aim at securing their name and trademarks on the Internet. Through BrandShelter.com they can centrally administer their internet addresses and control the use of their brands and trademarks on the internet.

“The Domain Pulse to us is one of the most important industry meetings in the German speaking area. We look forward to the dialogue with many experts of the domain branch, especially those from Austria and Switzerland”, describes Key-Systems COO Thorsten Smeets concerning the symposium. The Domain Pulse program covers, among others, the following topics: the new ICANN accreditation contract (ICANN = Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers), Domain Name Abuse, the new IDN TLDs (IDN = Internationalized Domain Name), and the Swiss DNSSEC pilot period. DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions) indicates an extension of the Domain Name System (DNS) aiming to make the internet even more secure. Some of the presenters at the Domain Pulse are: Kim Davies (ICANN), Steve Gobin (ICANN Europe), Stephan Welzel (DENIC) and Leonid Todorov (Coordination Center for TLD RU).

Since 2004 the three registries DENIC, Nic.at and SWITCH together host the annual Domain Pulse. SWITCH is the operator of the top-level domains (TLDs) .CH (Switzerland) and .LI (Liechtenstein). DENIC is the registry for domains ending with .DE (Germany). NIC.AT is the approval agency for the Austrian TLD .AT. Key-Systems currently manages more than 2.6 million domains. According to domain info-portals like Registrarstats.com, the company with 45 employees is one of the 20 largest domain registrars worldwide. It has direct access to the registries of more than 200 domain endings like .DE, .AT, .CH or .COM.

Key-Systems GmbH located in Zweibrücken, Germany, was founded by Alexander Siffrin in 1998. The company has grown from an academic sideline to a successful international ICANN accredited registrar for internet addresses. Areas such as a fully automated reseller-system and web hosting completed the success story. Today with more than 2.6 million domains under its management, the company has reached a leading market position, selling domain names, web hosting and DNS services to customers all over the world. The latest product BrandShelter.com offers companies and institutions special services related to domain administration including services to get their own top-level domain (TLD) as this opportunity unfolds in the near future. As of May 2009, Key-Systems also has a US branch: Key-Systems USA, Inc. is located in Leesburg, Virginia.
