The 20th Annual Breakbulk Transportation Conference and Exhibition
Published July 6th, 2009
October 2009 will mark the 20th anniversary of the Breakbulk Transportation Conference and Exhibition, which is the single largest gathering of top executives in the breakbulk and project cargo industry. The Journal of Commerce Conferences will host the event October 13 to 15, 2009 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Breakbulk Transportation Conference and Exhibition is an extremely well-respected, must-attend event for any logistics professional involved in the movement of breakbulk cargo.
This year’s Breakbulk Transportation Conference and Exhibition includes the industry’s biggest collection of exhibitors and two days of panels that will examine the renewing breakbulk sector, its key emerging markets and regions where the breakbulk industry is coming back.
“Breakbulk 2009 is a milestone for our company,” said Liam Power, Vice President Magazines, UBM Global Trade. “This is our 20th anniversary producing the event which has over two decades explored many changes to the breakbulk cargo industry. It’s no secret the global recession of the past year has been one of the worst. However, momentum is beginning to build for a new cycle of breakbulk recovery, which is something that we plan to delve into this year. ”
The 20th Annual Breakbulk Transportation Conference and Exhibition will feature a key note address by John Mika, Senior Vice President Procurement at Ch2M Hill, panel discussions that will focus on the forecast of positive economic indicators, as well as coverage of the following topics:
Industry Forecasts
Cleaning Up Bills of Lading
Impending Changes in INCO Terms
Sourcing Steel
Regional Roundtable: Brazil
Barging Breakbulk Cargo
Risk Management in a Buyer’s Market
